| Shot was taken quite early in the cool morning. The starling was one of a number which had landed in the rear garden that morning. The camera was set on the tripod and taken on auto focus. Only a medium amount of sharpening has been done to the photo. |

Hello Ian,
This is good, not only for the lovely detail of its plummage but because you have established eye contact. I think this is often difficult with starlings as their eyes seem to be 'sunken in'.
You will have much better composition for your bird if you crop him less tightly. He needs to have space to be looking in to. I have done a little w/s to explain what I mean. Hope you find it useful.
