Hello Beverley,
A fine macro of a Hoverfly doing the rounds in a Welsh Poppy. Technically this is of high quality and I like the composition showing both the hoverfly and the central parts of the flower with fine clarity and colours.
The hoverfly looks like it might be Syrphus ribesii.

Beautiful capture of a Hoverfly seeking nourishment on a Poppy flower, Beverley.
The presentation is highly artistic. The focus on the subject is spot on and the colours are very pleasing to look at.
We had a profusion of Hoverflies in our garden in April/May last year. This year not a single one. Wither, Mother Nature?
