| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This hoverfly plonked itself down on the flower in front of me and looked like it had got tangled up in the stamens, but it was off again almost as soon as it had landed. Not too long then for a decent shot, so I had to be quick.
As usual, the ID escapes me totally as there are so many species around, but they are fascinating and a joy to watch.
Cropped in Picasa2.

Sometimes they have a habit of doing things like that, well taken shot with good sharpness, shame about the blown highlights, but I can see that the sun was really harsh when you took the shot...well done.

Good shot even if the flower seems to be overexposed.. The details of the insect are excellent.. well done!
Wow, Vicky, you've certainly got the hang of these close-ups! Brilliant sharpness. A little over-exposed, though.

Such a beautiful photo!
I like very much the "golden yellow" colour!
Almost we can touch the insect!
Very good macro shot!
