Late evening, low light and the Shelducks would not take the hint not to stray near the Avocet chicks so she went into the attack, striking at the male Shelduck (Sheldrake??)to drive the pair away. This was repeated several times, sometimes she kicked water at them. Interesting to see and record.
Camera settings:- ISO 400, AV, Spot metering,Auto White balance, IS on, 560mm focal length, 1.4 x converter, Hand held, cropped hard. |

Hi Peter, a lovely action shot here. It must be great to see the Shelducks near you, they are very attractive. Beautiful wing and open beak capture and a fine reflection despite the low light conditions. Good POV, nice clean sharpness and good cropping.
