Andy you always have to most colorful critters. I can see from the exif data that the light was not with you. I don't think you could get more DOF in this instance but if... :) Very nice photo, well done.

Good Morning Andy! A very colorful shot of your tortoiseshell..I hope you don't mind BUT this is a prime example of why auto settings usually do not produce the best results in macro..Your bright BG and dark subject has fooled the camera here..F 2.8 has lost much of the butterfly..But you knew that right! ;-)

Very, very nice picture. Superb composition and lovely bright saturated colors. Too bad the focus on the tips of the wings seems slightly soft. Good note! TFS!
