The not so common these days Cowslip (Primula veris), these I spotted on the way home on the edge of a traffic Island where the main A606 Nottingham to Melton Mowbary crosses over the top of the old roman road, these days called the A46 on its way between Leicester and Newark-upon-Trent.So I stopped in the laybe and walked back and took a few shots.
You may think it looks a bright and pristen flower but if you look at the close up of the flower in the WS you will see it is covered in fine soot particles from the passing cars and lorries, its a hard life being a wild flower.

Hi Rob, I like the look of spring very much.
Have not seen any of these so far this year even in places I normally see them.
Good detail and colour in these, a slightly lower perspective I feel would have given a stronger composition IMHO.

Nice and lovely photo. Very nice composition and sharpness too. I love the plant as Spring delegate :-) In my country the species starts flowering slowly too.

Hi Rob. I've heard of Cowslips, but never known what they were. (Do we have them in NZ?) They do look like primrose/primula leaves. Nice for you all up there to be seeing the spring flowers appear. I'm getting some lovely spring growth on my roses and I even saw a Pohutukawa tree flowering this week - and it is autumn here now! Still hot and dry here in Auckland. But I'm not complaining apart from having to water the garden daily.

Jolie composition champêtre avec ces petits Coucous qui donne un air de printemps. Ce matin, surprise, la neige vient de retomber à Annecy...
Well done !

I very much enjoy these flowers in my garden (or similar ones), and they are just beginning to poke out through the ground. Thank you for the fast forward version, Robert. Good composition and detail. Interesting note also. What is a laybe please?
Thank you
