I first thought it was just a tree, the squirrel is well hidden.
Good shot, good details it just seems to me that the colours burned a bit.
TFS.

As I said to Philip, the grey kills the red. This is a typical pose of the grey on a tree. They will freeze mommentarily and then take off. Some can be tame as the ones in the city.
Excelent shot, well done on the composition.

Nice photo!
It looks as if this Squirrel stuck to that tree - very interesting pose.
I read your note and the info on the web side, so I know what problems this little fellows can cause, but this law about killing them is quite horrible. I hope people don't abide by this law.

These guys are obviously used to people, any self respecting countryside squirrel would have been flat out hiding on the far side of the tree out of view. Personally I alwys find these creatures quite entertaining really, the ones in our town centre will sit on your hand sometimes to take nuts from you.

For a min, by looking at the thumbnail,I thought it was the shot is all about a tree. Nice shot, Robert, clear sharp image. TFS
A nice photo of a favorite creature of mine. I know they can cause a lot of damage but I can't help but love them. I will post a workshop since I'm still experimenting with all the settings and features of Photoshop. Hope you don't mind me using your image to practice on.

Oh, he's sunbathing in the really bright clear day of yours Robert. Doesn't he blend in well with the bark of the tree? Good compo to catch that pose. well done.

With the exception of ground squirrels we don't get to see many of this cute critters.
It is therefore hard to believe that it's classified as a pest. The "Cage it or kill it" approach sounds a bit harsh. Do you think they are a pest? Is such drastic measures a neccesity to reduce their numbers?
Interesting read and pose of this critter. Perfect exposure and sharp details. Great shot, Robert.
