Excellent macro shot, superb sharpness and very nice details. We have similar grasshopper, but with shorter and smaller abdomen (relative to its head and thorax).

Hi Robert,
yes, I think that Egyptian Migrant Grasshoper Anacridium does not need a question mark in the title. It is clearly shown in its majestic dimensions in an impressingly three dimensional way, in deep colours, with fine details that deliver a good impression of the characteristically patterned eyes. Wide spread over the whole mediterranean area, these grasshoppers may, as we know, migrate farther north in dense flying crowds - reminding us of medieval times, or, even more likely, travel as single passengers with some of those EEC transports to places farther up north.
