[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the commoner Hoverflies Episyrphus balteatus the Marmalade Hoverfly is only 10mm long and one of the gardeners friends as it acts both as a pollenator but more usfully as a biological pest controler of aphids which in these days when we all need to be greener in our habits their maggot like larvae are very good at finding aphids and sucking the life out of them, there by lessening the need for chemical controls.
Taken in one of the few dry sunny spot spells of this wet summer early in the evening beside our nursery lake. hand held between gusts of wind that seem to be the other photographic pain this year, meaning many good images are not as sharpe as the could be.

Hello Robert. A very good close up shot of the Hoverfly.good colours and fine detail.your picture shows the body under the wing with much detail. a very nice POV/DOF. TFs. good notes too.
