[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I’m fairly sure of the species given for this one. I have previously posted this fly here. I like the colours in this shot, and the pose is kind of humorous too. I took this picture on one of the rare cloudless sunny days we had this summer.

The genus Eristalis contains the Drone Fly (E. tenax) and other bee mimics. All the species in this genus are very variable in their markings, with respect to the degree of pale or orange to black markings. The abdomen may be entirely dark, or with markings on only 1 or 2 of the abdominal segments (tergites). Members of Eristalis are among the most abundant of hoverflies. In general they breed in nutrient-rich ponds and ditches or sewage run off. The adults may fly considerable distance to spots that contain a profusion of flowers that produce the pollen that these flies eat.

Hope you still like her!

Muy similar a la imagen anterior de esta especie.
En este caso, creo que la mejora se encuentra en la suavidad del fondo.

Very similar to the previous image of this species.
In this case, I believe that the improvement is in the smoothness of the bottom.

Very fitting title, cute pose. Will the real Slim Shady please stand up! As for the rest... Your usual brilliant compo.

Great contrast between yellow flower and blue sky, good DOF, composition and sharpness. Excellent shot, but you should not have shot her, she had hands up!!!

Very good macro Paul.
Good DOF, nice compoition ,good details and nice colours.
Very nice work.
Good note.

je trouve cette scene moin attrayante que celles que tu a postées auparavant, mais la qualité reste tres bonne, les couleurs sont toujours au top !
merci.

Excellent shot Paul - the complimentary colours here works great, as they always do. The dof is spot on the main subject and I like the small yellow grains of pollen in the fur. Note is good as always.

Blue yellow nd your favourite fly - can you ask more? Oh, yes, he is covered in pollen, and a beaut to boot. Nice one, Paul
BTW
The roman Gerhard posted, they are beautiful, fast and I remeber stomping them as a kid in the bathroom in the evening. They use to enter the house - going after the light, and then ended up where you were sitting in the bath!

Another good shot Paul, but I must say I like the other post more than this one, no because of the quality but the overall impression. Sure it is subjective. Greetings.

Brilliant shot here Paul, really like the angle you took this at capturing the rare blue skys we have. So crisp and clear on the macro of the fly, fantastic. Well done. Also like the gentle border around it.

Another very nice Hoverfly shot.
Excellent blue sky background contrasting with the yellow flower.
Great detail, especially the pollen on the fly,....i've just noticed that it looks like its sticking 2 fingers up at you!
Maybe I've had a beer too many tonight ;-)
A good shot,very well done.

Excellent macro, Paul. Superb!!

Beautiful capture with very good colour contrasts. Nice and sharp, too, and nice pose on the part of the fly ;-) But it's the contrast of blue / yellow that really makes this one stand out.
