A very fine portrait in profile from a good, lateral viewpoint Joe, perfectly focused and with excellent plumage & colouration details. Those waterdrops tumbling from the hydrophobic back feathers are nice bonuses for this lovely take. TFS and cheers,

Hi Joe. It would be very good if you could get a picture of the young when they go in the water. This is a fine close up of the male. good detail in the wet feathers. with a shine in the eye. well done TFS.

Very interresting notes. I love the name greblings!

I always think grebes look look very punk-like with their pointed hairstyles. You have captured, this displaying all the details of the hairstyle, and much more besides! He has obviously just been under water, searching for food!
The colours are so natural and the composition spot on!

I don't want to repeat myself about your wonderful pictures, Joey, but this is so beautiful. I love everything, from the colours, pov, technical side to the story behind it... and the beauty of the grebe that you manage to get in a click of your camera. Grebes are very lovely and beautiful animals. All European species of the family occurs here. But Podiceps cristatus on your post relatively rare in our campus in this year. It was commoner in previous years.
You captured it from great POV and with great sharp details. Eyes contact and composition also great. Thanks for sharing
