That's a mighty fine macro of this caterpillar. The sharpness on it's hairs is very well captured and I like the crop you've chosen for the image. The contrast in colour also works very well.

Julia: Nicely taken shots of these parts of the life cycle. Well spotted! I'm pretty sure that this is the larva/pupa of the Speckled Wood butterfly (Pararge aegeria). The Wall Brown is very similar at both stages, but the pupa is more elongated.

http://www.ukbutterflies.co.uk/index.htm is a good resource. Any larva/pupa that suspends itslef by it tail in this way is a butterly, not a moth - which narrows the field down a lot!

I like the contrast of saturated colours, the rusty BG, and the green and fresh insect preapring for the change.
Lovely shapes too. I think the big and strong frame works well too. Nice work.
