common blue i think.it was still a bit sluggish in the bright cool sun, enough for me to get this close on macro. i cropped allot off the original to focus more on the small butterfly.

Hi Sue. i have yet to get my first Butterfly for this year . This is a good close up with fine detail and sharp focusing. Your use of the light has given bright colours. We can see the hairs down the body. Well done TFS.
Nick..

Hello Sue,
a beautiful and interesting point of view requiring a great depth of field which you also achieved.
Excellent sharpness - even the scale rows are clearly visible on the left forewing.
Light is well balanced.
It is a female of Celastrina argiolus.
Best wishes, Peter

Ciao Sue, great capture of lovely common blue, wonderful light, fine details and splendid sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hi Sue,this maybe was silver and not blue..ehhe..your point of view and the light position change the things! Very beautiful work, not easy a sharpness like that,my best compliments, have a nice day,Luciano.

Hello Sue,
I had Holly Blue in my garden, too, this afternoon, but not settling for me to take any pictures. I'll look again tomorrow. You did well to get this lovely shot. Thanks.
Alan

Hi Sue,
Even with the extensive crop, the detail is excellent. You handled the macro capture extremely well with the 570.
Regards,
Greg

Hi Sue,
like the way the butterfly mirrors the leaf behind it here. Nice details and a good DOF, you handled the lighting well here. Thanks for the bluebell info on my last post too.
Paul
