WOW! I am officially going to have a nightmare tonight...
Welcome to TN, by the way - Great way to introduce yourself. Are you a photo micrographer or something? That is an amazing close-up with superb detail.
TFS,

Hallo Alistair
This is super sharp and great photography. Macro at its best. Fine detail captured is splendid, and is so sharp that it feels as if one is looking through a microscope. Wonderful and rich colours and an overall excellent presentation. Best regards and thanks for sharing. Anna

Paul
Hi again, Alistair
Another fantastic macro from you!
The dew on the head of this female Banded Demoiselle really gives it such a special texture and makes everything a bit more interesting. I also love the lighting here - with the flash focused only on its head and that darker BG that only adds more mystery and drama to this already "alien" scene.
Great work in all aspects!
Bravo and thanks for sharing
Horia
PS: i just picked up a copy of Photogaphy Monthly's June issue...many congratulations for your really cool photos there and excellent article, too! May i ask if they contacted you for the publication or if you sent them some material?

Hi Alistair,
Another brilliant image from you.
I'm beginning to wonder if someone doesnt perhaps carry around a little mister just to give those insects a wee spray .... and why not.
It certainly makes for an amazing shot!
(.... if they were already wet,my apologies, but it did occur to me as a good trick to make those insect macros just that bit more interesting, actually a LOT more.Goshinsky adds fractals to his but they wouldn't be appropriate on TN really.)
Anyway, excellent work again.
Well done!
Cheers
Steve

Another cracking shot!
Stunning detail and fantastic light.
Really top-class stuff!
CanonBob from Talk Photography actually lent me his MP-E 65mm and MT-24EX Twin Lite for over two weeks so I was able to get a good idea of the power of this lens... it's absolutely incredible as you prove here!!
How's life with the new baby?
All the best,
Joe - Wildlight
