[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a x4 portrait of a Crab Spider. The Spider was insitu on a yellow flower. The spider had taken on the colour of the flower and was almost invisible at a quick glance. I love how the spider and flower blend together.

This is a focus stack of three seperate images to increase the DOF. It was taken with Canons MPe-65, MT24ex Twin Flash. All shots taken handheld and combined in PS using Combinezm.

This shot was commended in the International Gardener Photographer of the Year 2008 and is one of my favourite images.

Another beauty!
You really are a master of macro aren't you Alistair?
I'd love to learn a few of your tricks.
I had been using a Raynox DCR 150 with my Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ8 until recently when it died after being dropped.
Now I've replaced the Lumix with a Canon SX10 IS but I'm not sure if I've done the right thing.
I've done well with two previous Lumixes, but when I tried the Canon S3 IS I just couldn't get the same results.
The same with the SX10 IS
I'm finding it much more difficult to get clear fungi macros in the dark forest.
I'm just hoping that with practice I'll nail it because it seems a great camera in most other ways.
I'd like to practice that image stacking too.
It looks worth doing to get that DOF.
Nice work.
Cheers
Steve

Hi Alistair,

Another great capture,I like the fact that subject is well camouflaged in flower,I have as well a similar capture in my portfolio (but the colors are a bit different),

Regards,
Paul

Awesome color scheme. I think the most natural looking of your photos here.

Hi Alistair!

Breathtaking macro. Superb level of magnification, great deatails. Good use of stacking technique. And last but not least this is very arty picture - spider looks like floating in ocean of yellow mist. Great work!
