[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
We see the Blackbird most mornings in the garden and it sings in the evening . Its a bird i never quite seem to get right . I like the way they have a bright eye ring.

Blackbird ( Turdus merula ) Length 25cm.
Familiar garden bird in much of Britain and Ireland. Can also be found in woodland, farmland and on moors. Mostly resident but North European birds add to numbers in winter. Male easily identified by Thrush like appearance and all black plumage, yellow eye ring and bill. Female and juvenile has brown speckled plumage. Harsh alarm calls often heard at dusk and if a prowling cat is nearby. Male is an excellent singer. Feeds on worms, insects, fruit and berries
