Hi Nick,
it's a perfect butterfly - not very old - and born in a very cold time, realy amazing. Your shot is wonderful, very special at that date.

Hi Nick,
Interesting composition of this red admiral in an unusual pose.
The perpendicular wood beams create a catching BG.
Love the contrasting colors on those wings.
Beautiful shot. TFS. : )

Hello Nick,
It is quite late in the year for butterflies, but the Red Admiral is usually one we can see very late and very early in the year( in Valais I saw one already in January)
The picture itself is of great quality, the colors of the wings are excellently shown, not an easy task. And you have a rather unusual surrounding, but it is this sort of places the butterfly chooses to get some warmth.
Thanks and kind regards
Anne

Hi Nick,
a nice picture of this beautiful butterfly.
They use to fly up here too very late in the autumn to find something to eat before the die as they do not survive our cold winter.
The admiral is not to get right with the exposure but you did a good job.
Good sharpness and nice colours.
Well done.
Have a nice Weekend.

Hi Nick.
Few weeks ago I had rare opportunity to pictures this amazing butterfly. There are not so many insects of the species in our places and they are usually in-flight. You have pictured it with your compact camera greatly. Details, shapes, colouration are amazing. Fill flash is great for this subject. I also like attractive surroundings. My photo model sat on a not impressive concrete column. My best wishes and TFS. Great job.
Alexei.
