Starry smoothhound (Mustelus asterias)

A moderately-sized, rather slender shark with two high dorsal fins and white spots on the dorsum. These harmless sharks feed mainly on crabs and can be found around the coasts of Ireland / Britain and as far south as the Mediterranean.

Wow, exellent picture of an shark. Shadows are perfect and colours too. I like it. Well done and TFS.

Well composed. I like the silhoutte of the shark against the blue and the light coming in. Mysterious. Beautiful work.

This is what I like - underwater picture! Dynamic scene full of blue light, shark looks dangerous yet beautifull. I like its pose and fishes on BG. Real predator! Could you post more pictures of this kind Stephen?

Hi Stephen. I like this one very much. The backlit shark is imposing and graceful. The setting looks completely natural. Great DOF and sharpness with outstanding light (I love the way the light shines through the shark's fins) and mood. Very well done :)
