Tollymore Forest, Co Down.

Covering an area of almost 630 hectares at the foot of the Mourne mountains, the forest park offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the sea at nearby Newcastle, while within its own boundaries are many splendid vistas of woodland and rivers. The forest is a nature preserve inhabited by a host of local wildlife, including badgers, foxes, otters, and pine martens.

Hi Steve,
I just finished watching Coast. I had to tape it because I had a photographers meeting yesterday. It was great to see some parts that I knew from your photos. Just a pitty they rushed by the Antrim coast so fast. This ancient forrest looks really beautiful, something I don't find that often but want to see daily.
I am just amazed about the flow of the water. Like Karan mentioned, as if it is comming from the tree. But also the little strean on the right is interesting. A stunning composition and as always excellent control on the exposure.
I see that you had to take the risk of getting some water drops on your lens.

I've played with simple photos like this, but I haven't been impressed with the results. Somehow you take some similar simple elements and end up with a stunning photo. I wish I could figure out what makes it stand out. Maybe the shape of the tree and the rich element of the long exposure on the water? Anyway, another wonderful landscape, Steven.

Hello Stephen

a beautiful landscape with a well done composition and perfect control of exposure...the stream of water is beautiful capture with this long exposure...I think the small stream in the right a little distracting

Hi Steven!

You know, one of my favourite tv series is Robin of Sherwood, UK version with Pread/Connery as Robin Hood. This serie had got exceptional atmosphere and beautifull, mystic pictures of forest [to say nothing about perfect music played by Clannad]. And this picture looks like taken from this serie. It is just great.

Beautiful place! I like motion of the water and colours.

Is this a fairytale land? Must be! It's magnificent!
I've seen most of the people referred to the water that appears to be coming from the big tree (quite right, actually :) ) and only some to the smaller stream to the right. I think that one makes all the difference. Also, it has a very interesting effect - it looks as if it just started flowing right now - when you took the picture, because the water apparently stops there :)
What i also love in this frame are the fallen leaves and the moss, which are simply everywhere! They give a beautiful chromatic fill to the frame.
Very well exposed, great POV and impressive DOF (basically everything is in focus) :)

Bravo and TFS
