Long time no see Stephen. I think I remember that you posted a shot of this same location before??? It is really interesting. The foreground is greaat against the hill of hexagonal columns in the back. I really like seeing the sea beyond.

The landscape is so unique, I've seen this such kind of columnar joint structure in limited andesite or basalt body, but never see in very wide coverage as this area. The green little grassy area in the middle really fit to the photo title, I guess you play a little contrast here.
Excellent presentation, make me really want to go there, TFS

An incredible landscape which I had the pleasure of visiting 15 (!!) years ago.
The foreground is stunning with the contrast between rock, sand and seaweed. I (personally) find the bg a tad too dark, but this is just my opinion.
Great work, thanks for sharing.

Hi Steve and welcome back :)
It's great to see you here and posting again!
And it's even greater to see one more photos of these hexagonal basalts - your speciality (among other things). :))
I think these photos really represent you here on TN, because not only you have quite a numbet of them, but you also know how to take them in order for them to seems amazing every single time.
This here is another terrific shot with, as you said, an oasis of "green" in the middle of all that grey "sea".
The composition here is terrific and the textures ofall these rocks are great. The DOF you used keeps everything in very good focus and the use of the circular polarizer really helped you get the best of all the colors there.
What i also like here is this excellent perspective that shows both sides of the hexagonal basalts - both the upper POV (in the FG) and from the side (in the BG). That really adds to the overall imact of the picture.
Splendid work, my friend!
Bravo and TFS

Hi Steve,
How is life treating you these days? This is another marvelous photo from that day at the Giant Causeway. I really love the combination of the dark rock and the brighter sea weeds. Its really nice how you were able to illuminate them. The shapes of the rocks make this all look kind of organic. The mood created by the dark clouds makes the photo a tad misterious.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Stephen,
Very nice contribution. I have been there many years ago and was completely overhelmed by the beauty of this place. Still have many slides done there - just need transfer them to digital :-)
Anyway, I like very much the nice climat on your photo, strange "approaching storm" light and nice contrast between the rocks and the vivid green algae. Indeed, looks primaeval :-)
Best greetings,
Michal

Hello Stephen,
I have always loved your pictures of Giants Causeway. This is probably one of best. Love the contrast between dark basalt and vivid plants. The oasis makes a superb FG but the BG with the "hill" and dark sky is also striking.
Excellent work!
