In the dune system of ballintoy there is also an ancient mound known as a Tumulus which may be a burial site, another word for Tumulus would be Si - in Irish mythology the fairies are said to have been the people of the Si. One prominent volcanic stack is aptly named the 'Elephant Rock'.

Hi Stephen, a very interesting composition here. Such a contrast and variety of colors here. Love the grass set against the water with the rock set against the sky. Good choice of shutter speed. Good job, thanks.

Wow - wonderful view, Stephen, and the water is marvelous, such a beautiful splash.
I love it, thanks

Hi Steve

This one really looks like an elephant!!! Cool!
Again a terrific coastal view from you, full of splendid colors and with an outstanding composition.
The perspective is great, too and one can also see that very far vertical coast from the BG.
Very well managed exposure and lovely details throughout the entire frame.

Bravo and TFS

Hi Stephen

Your shots are so beautiful. Amazing light and a real feeling of drama. Great composition.

Hi Steve,
This feels a little like a HDR photo. The range of the light and the softness of the texture of the grasses and waves gives me that feeling. It's probably caused by the shutter speed combined with the wind and motion of the waves that gives it this effect. The view is another spectacular one, and I think I remember that gate from one of your previous photos. I am esepcially amazed about the beautiful light in the far distance.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Steve,

I see that you also got the 400xti. I really like mine except for the battery life and lack of spot metering. Do you ever do anything with "Picture Styles"? I just have mine at the default settings and shoot highest quality RGB jpeg. I can't deal with the huge RAW files right now. Also I suspect I need to download something in order to enhance them. I could do it with the 30D but now I can't open RAW files so have to figure that out.

I see you are still enamored with slow shutter speeds. It must have been really calm as the grasses look sharp to me. The clarity of the colors are really nice here. There is very interesting action in the water.

Hi Stephen.
I love this shot. So much interest within the frame. From the rock to the fence and the splashing wave and the coast in the bg. Lots to tantalise the eye. Very well done once again.
Regards, Steve.

G’day Stephen Beautiful image. Excellent exposure, focus, detail, and DOF. Well done!
I guess you can't swim here! I like the colours also espcially the goldtop rock too the left of center TFS Paul
