[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Nine Glens of Antrim radiate outwards towards the Irish coast from the mountainous heartland of the county, cut through the black basalt by rivers and further gouged by ancient glaciers.

Of the nine Glens of Antrim "Glenariff" is referred to as the 'Queen of the Glens'. The small village of Waterfoot lies at the mouth of the Glen. The upper part of the glen contains some excellent walks through the forest and down alongside the river as it flows over several waterfalls.

Because of the light difficulties here I had to use three images which I then merged/masked in photoshop. The falls are very much in shade here while the tree are illuminated by a strong sun.

Beautiful queen you captured here, Stephen.
I've seen other queens;-)
Well done
Annick

I feel the shutter speed on the lower part of this merged image may have been a tad too slow as the burn out is a little distracting to me. The top of the falls is quite lovely. It looks like a pretty place to spend an afternoon. You do have a knack for finding great photo ops.

Hi Stephen, this is a very impressive shot. You also have great skill in merging 3 shots, it looks seamless. The water fall is very dramatic from your low pov, I am wondering if you got wet. I love the low shutter speed on the water and then the crisp and bright light on the trees. Wonderful composition.

Hi again Steve

I've read your discussion with Evelynn and looking at the picture again, i must congratulate you for your patience and work here after you took the shots, too!
The Image is more than impressive and the fact that you manage to create such a well balanced result merging the differrent exposures is remarkable! I sure would love to know how this all works...
Anyway, the initial composition of the shots is terrific, too, and the low angled view for this gorgeous waterfall is great and quite original. You also handled well the brightness of the trees and made the transition to them very nice.

Cheers
Horia
