Very impressive perspective, Stephen. The view of the Atlantic with a vertical streak of rainbow on one side of it is a grand one. The island with the surf around it looks like a giant sea creature surfacing from the depths.
Thanks for sharing this lovely image.

A very good advice to us all, Stephen!
A very good intuition and a great capture - as a result!
The high POV is excellent and gives a very nice perspective to all the scenery, together with the well chosen small apperture.
Also the exposure is very well maanged and the colors are, evidently, wonderful!
BTW...interesting choise for a lens? We were used to see you with the Canon 10-22mm...another new toy? :)
Anyway, Bravo and TFS

Hello Stephen,
This is a nice capture, combining this fine seascape with light playing with the raindrops!
I like the composition, with emphasis to the big ocean...
I notice the weather beaten island with the small house... what a place to live!!
Greetings,

Stephen you certainly know your country and weather! The rainbow was a prize for your quick thinking, and driving.
And can I see a little cottage on the island? That looks a remote place to live... But it looks nicely tucked away from the winds and weather.
Sorry I can't get BBC2 fom down under.
Cheers

I'm surprised by the 48mm on this one, Steve. It works well and probably does bring out the rainbow in this scene, and the informal balance with the island. I just would have guess you for a complete rainbow at 10mm man.

Hi Steven!
Did you found pot of gold :-) ?
Another excellent picture! As always perfect composition, POV and DOF, but this time rainbow is a superb bonus. I like your note - looks like most people on TN are the same - company of good shots hunters :-)

Hi Stephen,
I'm a big fan of the TV series Coast...So I am sure I am going to watch it tomorrow. You are right about reading the weather. I am actually using the Internet for some help. We have a live feed from a doplar radar which will inform me where and when it rains.
A beautiful photo with a stunning partial rainbow. I can't seem to understand the little bend of the rainbow on the horizon...or is it just me. Great control on the exposure and the composition.
TFS,
Niek

A great instinct you have Dear Stephen! Excellent shot capture of one of the most auspicious sights in nature. The angry sea below and the light over the rock are just amazing. Great shot.
