The Falklands have nearly two hundred native species of plants, many are to be found on walks and trails around the islands.
Pernettya Gaudichaud (Ericaceae: Vaccinioideae: Andromedieae) is a genus of 14 species of small, strictly terrestrial shrubs to subshrubs. It is distributed throughout the cordilleras from north-central Mexico to Tierra del Fuego with outlying populations in the Guayana Highlands, Galápagos and Juan Fernández Islands, and in Tasmania and New Zealand. It is characterized by usually small leaves, inflorescences with usually solitary flowers, anthers with awns, superior ovary, and fruit a berry.

A very good shot of these beautiful berries and shrubs.Are these edible ...they look tasty. I really like the colour saturation,the reds are vivid and are complimented nicely by the green tones.Very nice contrast ,and use of lighting.TFS

leur couleur rouge vif les rend tres apetissant mais je ne sais pas si elles sont commestibles(je n'ai pas trouvé dans la note).j'aime le cotraste entre les baies et les feuilles.bien vu.
