Hello Adrian,

Very nice composition. This is a sawfly (Tenthredinidae). Good POV, DOF and sharpness. Beautiful colours.

Marie is right, this species is not a fly (Diptera) but a member of Tenthredinidae family (Hymenoptera). Anyway, nice picture of rather rarely presented insect gropup on TN :)

a nice Tenthredinid you have here. For ID there is a great site, www.rutkies.de/tenthredo/index.html. It looks like Tenthredo notha to me.
