[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the river Annan at Hoddam in the south west of Scotland. It is my favourite place to walk. There is a guarantee of seeing a heron or two or three. Otters can be spotted here. We were lucky to see a group of otters frolicking. Keep your eyes peeled and you may see a kingfisher. The banks of the river have many varieties of wild plants and flowers. I like to see comfrey and wild garlic.
By the way, in this field is sited an old graveyard. If you take a look at photos that I have posted on trekearth you will see this atmospheric place. very serene.

This is another nice shot. The lighting in this scene is beautiful and well captured. Exposure, DOF and sharpness are very good. I like the composition a lot.

I am struck by the similarity of my native Kentucky and the land of my ancestors (from around Duns). Wonderful light, great diagonals and an interesting sky in this shot.

Hi Beverley,
Excellent work on the lighting conditions. It gave the trees and brown grass a golden look. The diagonal flow of the river combined with the dark clouds make it a beautiful composition. A higher F-stop might have given you a little more detail in the f/g. It would also be better to have the single tree more to the left because it is now too much in the middle and is blocking the few into the back of the photo.

beautiful landscape!...the colours are warm and well saturated and the composition works for me...some people would say the tree should be off-center!

The river is maybe peaceful but the sky is certanly not! Great view of that beautiful "before the rain" sun snd clouds contrast,great shot Bev!

You captured a beautifull light trouht those clouds. Composition is simple but effective. Sharpness and exposure are excellent.
