Whilst walking along the beach in Kirkcaldy on a cold but fresh morning I received this message from above ;)
I took this photograph on Sunday, at about 10.30 AM. The weather was totally crazy. It changed every few minutes… From a bright sun to wind and rain…and vice versa.
It was captured just before the sun disappeared. A second later it was raining. The sea was already grey but the sky was still blue (just for another second) and there was a tiny white glow on the water near the blue hills by the horizon line.
Seafield beach lies around the curve of the north shore of the Firth of Forth (which goes into the North Sea). On a bright day, you can see Edinburgh on the right hand side of the picture.
It isn’t a ‘touristy’ beach at all. It is quite ‘wild’ with its seagulls, seals etc, and has many hidden treasures… star fish, crabs, snails and water greens…(They will do for another photograph).
TECH: Except for re-sizing, the photo is untouched.
Thanks for taking the time… |

Very nice Landscape, Rachel.
Good POV, well composed and very nice colours.
But I think the horizon slant slightly to the right, about 1-1,5 deg, otherwise it's a very nice picture.
Very well done.
Welcome to TN.

A great first performance, Rachel.
Nice composition and point of view.
I wish you the most cordial welcome on TN.
In the pleasure to admire your next posts and to read your notes and critics.
Thank you for sharing.
A great first post Rachel. The sky is fantastic, very batman-esq. I have to agree with Gert where the horizon is concerned but it is still a fantastic seascape. Well done and keep them coming.

Superb capture rachel, vivid colours and depth. I agree with the slight tilt of horizon, however, it works well with this image as it increases the distance, almost drawing the eye from left to right.
Well done.
Hello Rachel. A wonderful landscape, I especially like the various shades of cobalt blue and the sunlight in the water. Good composition with lovely detail, lighting and POV. Thank you for sharing it with us, and welcome to TN!
I also agree on the horizon level point...
