Greenfinches
This large stocky, thick billed finch breeds in loose groups in tall trees, old hedgerows and mostly our garden!
They're partial to berries, but are very happy to eat from feeders.
Adults are easily identified, but duller juveniles can be more difficult to differentiate.
These two were photographed just above my feeder and were joined by Siskins, Chaffinches and Goldfinches, shots of which I will post over the next few days. I set up a hide in our caravan, several metres away and rested my lens on a cushion.
Thanks for looking. |

Hi Gary
Nice shot - focus looks a little 'soft' on my screen, but still a lovely shot with nice muted colours.

Hi Gary,
A nice capture of these two Green Finches sharing the same branch of a tree. Apparently, the one closer to the camera displays its fine plumage with distinction.
Excellent point of view and composition.

Hola Gary.
Un magnífico retrato, con perfectos colores y una muy buena nitidez.
Buen BG y acertado POV.
Saludos, JL.
What a lovely photo ! It almost looks like a mirror has been placed behind the closer bird. Colors are beautiful and the composition couldn't be better. It could be a bit sharper for my taste, but still, it is just lovely. TFS, Mish
