Good you want to use the elements in tour images to generate atmosphere.

Hello Niek,
Very well composed "minimalist" picture, generated by the fog. Interesting light and dark levels and the two ducks as balance for the whole. Well seen

Hi Niek,
Je laat ons hier een mysterieus plaatje zien maar het is wel een prachtige.
Je hebt hier prachtig licht en de mist over de bomen is super om te zien. De twee eenden zijn een bonus voor deze foto.

Hi Niek,
an almost dreamy atmosphere here, the faded strip of trees framed by the fog and lake creates a nice natural panoramic. The ducks add some nice detail and give a sense of depth, although i would be interested to see this without them. Exposure is spot on and the more i look the more detail i can see in the forest.
I stayed here for 3 days when i was in Scotland, at Glenmore. The Caledonian Pines here are amazing aren't they? And there's alot of Red Squirrels darting around...I might see if i have anything decent from here too!

This is a wonderful image Niek. Perfectly composed with the ducks there low enough in the frame but with just the right amount of space below them. Great details in their wake in the water. And I love the foggy bg. It's interesting, because I think if you had panned a bit to the right (and placed the ducks in the left side of the frame) I think you would have had a cliche; but putting them on the right side like that really makes this special because the viewer has to find them and that adds an element of surprise. Well done, dude!

This is a really lovely photograph, Niek. The two dark ducks are absolutely essential elements to the composition and you placed them perfectly (IMHO). I love the image but not so much the white frame. I tried a dark gray (taken from the lake color) and a tiny white inner line. I felt it really gave the image a peaceful, restful quality, but that of course is very subjective.

Hello my friend Niek,
Good mood in the fog scene captured!
The two ducks added a lot of serenity towards the picture and I like it!
It's a good composition to me and thanks for sharing

Silent, peaceful and a little mystic if there were no animals. A wonderful moment, Niek, I think very typical for Scotland, I remember we also had fog all day there.
Thanks, very good

Hi Niek
You are going to have to tell me what you did with this picture becuase the ones I took from this location are so very flat, and get this one has a great quality to it that is so soft and almost warm to touch... We were looking for Black Throated Divers here... It is strange that you remember the location and I remember what we were looking for... You got the better 'bargin' there.... I spent 15mins or so trying to work out where I was for my last upload and yet I could picture the place I took the photo from so very clearly...

Hallo Niek,

Hi Niek
Great composition - this is the sort of shot I like - real and abstract at the same time. The light is excellent.

Hi Niek
Very serene. The dark coloured ducks add interest, plus they show how calm the water is. I like that the fog has lifted just enough to see the trees on the other side of the lake and show depth. A nice landscape Niek.

Hello Niek,
Some days simply are like this, but still with their own silent beauty...
Which you capture so well here!
Greetings,

Three ducks would really do the trick here, hahaha!

Hi Niek,
Your explain this photo so very well in your notes...the calmness of the lake, the ducks paddling along with wakes following in the quiet of the morning. I like the softness of the photo the fog brings...its beautiful and calming to look at. TFS

Hi Niek
A very lovely and original shot over this loch and a splendid composition with the 2 ducks making small waves on the surface of the water.
I really like the perspective of your shot, especially the fact that the farther bank is visible.
Charming work, my friend!
Bravo and TFS

What a mood this creates with the mist and the barely visible shoreline in the distance. The water somehow looks cold. Gives one a shiver. The lines of the ducks are interesting creating an X like that. Well done.

Hi Niek!
You realized a picture of the kind I appreciate very much: actually a banal - if that does exist - landscape becomes highly interesting because of a special note. This note, in the present case, is the lighting and the fog that is mirroring on the water. Two little ducks give it the final touch and lead the spectator's eye straight into the image... well seen, well felt, well realized.
Kind regards
Markus
