Hello Gary,
Fine capture of a Red Deer in summer. This does not have the autumnal splendour of a Landseer painting, but it has the warmth and tranquility of early summer.
Technically this is sharp and well presented, but most of all this shot radiates calmness. So 'Laird' instead of 'monarch' is a good choice.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Hello Gary,
what a wonderdful champion! Well focused and with the right depth (your note is really useful), you give him a three-dimensional effect. Maybe he was angry, but you were clever.

It must be deer season. Many of my readers have been sending me pics of bucks and doe as well as fawn all week. Of course up here we do not have this variety.
An image like one I have never seen. Very nicely captured my friend Gary....You work for your pixs I see...that's the good old fashioned way..Worth the effort.

Hello Gary! My goodness, but isn't he letting you know he's not best pleased! Very appropriate title, gorgeous composition with good detail! Am somewhat surprised at how large his ears are, rather the size of the mule deer found in the American west. Marvellous capture, lucky you to have been there! Thank you, Linda

wow, what a handsome deer, he would be the pride of the hunter´s wall. *g*
the shot kind of like reminds of the painting my grandmother used to have on her wall, when it was popular.
anyway, wonderful shot, perfectly composed with the great green hilly landscape in the bg.
excellent colors and sharpness showing a superb pose.
well seen & captured, thor.

Great note: Thankfully being female they don't seem to bother with me and will happily ignore me

I like this shot; the setting is perfect. Somehow there is a 3D quality to your picture. The deer seems to stand out. Nice shot Gary.
