[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Old man of John O' Groats

Well that's what I would call it. This is one of the huge stacks at Duncansby Head in Caithness. This is said to be the true most north easterly tip of the Scottish mainland, exceeding John O' Groats by at least a mile. The highest Stacks of Duncansby Head rise 210 feet out of the water. This particular day the sky was completely overcast so trying to extract some detail was impossible. The flowering buds of May did help though.

Beautiful cliffs. Great POV and with that nice spot of color in the foreground. The colors are well saturated and I like that you have kept a bit of softness in this picture. It gives it that mysterious air which is common to Scotland. Well done Stephen.

Hola Stephen.
Maravillosa panorámica.
Perfectos detalles y agradable exposición.
Saludos, JL.

good capture of our scotish coast love the sea pinks in the foreground, pity i missed this on my trip up there.

Hi Steve,
I am slowly starting to worry about the weather I am going to have. It seems that either fall has started, or that I just managed to plan my vacation during the wet period. Anyway, I am sure there will be some better days. At least I know that photos with a flat sky work too.
Wonderful capture, with great details and beauiful fresh colors. There is this one area in the rock that looks a little flat in contrast.
TFS,
Niek

Hi Stephen,
This is a great view on the cliffs with some nice coloured flowers in the fg and some mist in the bg.
Reminds me of a place in a book from Daphne du Maurier.

Hi Stephen.
Very beautiful POV once more with the flowers as an onusual seaside feature. Lovely colour and light. Very well done.
