Hello Niek
I can understand totally the need to capture the moment and you have captured it perfectly and it does portray to me what you were seeing..not every photo needs to be pinsharp!! oh and who ever said a 400mm lense wasnt a landscape lense!!
Best Regards

Hi Niek,
I like the concept of this shot... grabbing ahold of that light. The composition has me a bit stumped though. I like it better in the thumbnail than full size. The OOF immediate foreground is bothersome... but if that were removed then you are left with the second layer divided exactly in half... the green trees and the yellow ones. So then you are stuck with taking some off the left side. If you eliminated the blurred foreground then you'd want the new foreground to be closer to a one third ratio... which would mean you'd have to crop some off the top! Well I tried all that and it's not too bad. I really like the zig zag of the overlapping hills. I think with a bit of levels and sharpening on just the sunlit tree the image could have a bit more impact. How's that for a rambling train of thought!!!?? I think I have managed to over-analyze this!!
TFS... love your note

The fogginess is still there in the distant hills, so the sun hitting the trees comes out very well and illustrates that hazy morning feeling (not quite awake but not quite dreaming either). Well done

Hi Niek,
I see fog many times during the year and I always see something I like about the way it effects light.I like the look of your photo as it shows a defuse light with nothing really all that hard focused. The only thing I could say that could be better is if the foreground were somehow darker but that is something you can't control.Tfs. hello Niek,
The play of light works well here, giving this fine variation between light and shadows!
A good feeling of depth in this different landscape photograph...

Hi Niek,
Lovely softness to this landscape with the fog.
The graceful hills add verve and the lit tree, a splash of light.
I'm getting wierd. I've got to get to bed! :-)
Richard--- See you later
PS The more I look I'm drawn into the image and experience the wonderful light.

Hi Niek
These are my favourite conditions. I love watching the morning light through the mist when I travel into work every day on the train. The colour where the light is hitting the tree is quite wonderful

Really nice textures and colors, Niek. Overall the shot works well. Still, I wish you had gotten out your tripod and shot this at f/22. I wonder if cropping out the fg would help a bit...
