This loch is located in the heart of Rannoch moor in the Scottish Highlands.
This photo taken last November on overcast sunrise that luckily provided some openings enough for colors to pierce through the clouds and fill the scenery with unusual Scottish tonalities. I think this tree is photographed quite a bit, since I took this photo I have run into it a few times. Must be that there is a road nearby..
I’m preparing a return this November I will hopefully find some snow this time around as I would like to also experience this area in dressed in white.

Hi Emmanuel,
I love this place, great plains surrounded by mountains, with few shallow lakes... yes- it is true that this tree is one of most often photographed motive in Scotland, but worth it. Your picture looks fresh- nice sky colours, good composition, nice atmosphere.
cheers!

Amazing capture. I love the gradient type color here. Cool colors on the right and warm on the left. The cloud cover is amazing. Great work.

Hi Emmanuel
It is a very photographed tree because there are so few trees to use on Rannoch Moor and the surrounding area and that the lochan there is so photogenic especially when it freezes over in the winter... It is also an area I know really well.
I like the use of the light here, but can't help feeling that there is a very slight tilt down on the right side...
The colours are so very typical of the Highlands, and it looks like you ran into the typical weather as well... I know that there is currently snow on the tops at present. the area is great in snow, but also very hazardous as you can guess...
I hope you get the snow you want next month, I have my fingers crossed for Christmas and New Year 2 weeks when I am back there next.
TFS
Emma
