I took this fungi photo a few years ago and have been trying to figure out what it is since then. I am intregued by the gills, they look totally different to anything in my mushrooom books. can anyone help? Thanks

Hi Lorna
Could be an oldish specimen of Hydnum rufescens. With the shot being a little over-exposed it's tricky to be certain. Hope that helps!
