Carrying on from yesterday's post, I won't bore you all with the same details, so if you want more info, please see link.

I have been a little more daring with the contrast levels today - is it too much? I increased it by +20.

Also do you think I should have left the tree in on the right hand side. I thought it might add a little depth to the picture, which may otherwise have lost it becuase of the cloud.

And did you spot the refelctions of the trees in the loch?

Taken in RAW, converted to Jpeg, cropped, resized and contrast increased. Taken using tripod, mirror lock up and timer control to improve sharpness.

Superbe paysage Emma. Belle composition panoramique. L'expsition de lumière est très bonne. Bravo pour cette belle image.

Emma...
Another fine & moody composition!
I'm impressed by textures in spite of full zoom, right?
Yes I think you need that contrast here, and th tree popping in from lower right corner is sooo nice!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Good shot Emma! I love the soft almost monochromatic colours here, and the low lying cloud really adds an ethereal quality to the scene. The reflections are nice too. As for contrast, looks fine to me. I also think you made the right decision with the tree on the right - although I wonder whether having a bit more of it in shot would be better? Anyway, a lovely capture - thanks for sharing :-D

I wonder whether an even more aggressive crop to remove the sky completely would work - thoughts?

I think this one is even better. I love the extra contrast and I like the tree on the right - I think it gives some perspective - may be we could even have seen a little more.

Hello Emma, what a great atmosphere with these low clouds.
I found this a beautiful photo.
Very well done!
Greetings Jan-Arie

Hi Emma, Great photo, fogy landscape, Excellent details, Great POV, Bg, TFS Kyle

Hi Emma,
Another fine cloudy photo. I have to agree with Pablo, the contrast works out fine perfectly and the I do like the tree on the right. I do feel that when you had left it out the photo would less depth. It is really cool to see the reflections of the trees in the lake.

Niek

Beautiful atmosphere in this foggy landscape. The cropped tree in the FG leaves it a bit imbalanced. In a perfect world there would have been a whole tree in front on a third. In any case, a great shot with good impact.

Gabi

Very nicely done Emma, I love the atmosphere you were able to capture in it. Very good composition, I would have maybe cropped the branches at right to have a more homogene compo. Contrast is very good to my taste. Thanks for this good post.

Mario

Hi Emma,

I like this version even better. I know what you were trying to achieve with the right hand tree but I don't think there is enough of it.

Hi Emma!
Your landscapes are marvellous and this one is no exception.
Thanks for your visit. Having my home in the Himalayas, I find quite a bit of affinity with Scottish Highlands. Needless to say, I love this picture.

Hi Emma,
I think the contrast is spot-on, I like this one the most. A really nice calm shot, and I like the addition of the tree at the right which adds more contrast. Nice shot.
Cheers,
Adrian

Hi Emma,
This is a dreamming landscape, just a word: beautiful.
Thank you

Hi Emma,

After looking at the three landscapes I think that this one is my favorite. The calm and still of the water moving up towards the rugged tree lined landscape - perfect.

Well done.

Hi Emma, I agree that this is the best of the 3. Just love it! There is more lake on this one, dreamy atmosphere. About the tree on the side I do think that a bit more of it or none at all would be better, or a bit more in the angle. Your landscapes are great!! So mystirious. Thanks for letting us enjoy them.

Hello Emma...
