I know Bob "collects" blue flowers, so this is for him, for both his enthusiasm and kind words, thanks Bob.

Blue flower, probably Boraginacaea Family, This is another view of a flower I uploaded recently with the wrong ID!!!

Ori Fragman suggests Boraginacaea. I have little to go on as yet, as my reference books are on loan until the weekend.

Species uncertain but probably a "forgfet-me-not" These are the most brilliant blue flowers, being between 17-30 mm. The leaves are "pointed" and finish in a tuft. This maybe a garden escapee, but it was found in a hedgerow away from habitation and in shadow. The plant itself was rather scraggy and woody with age, so, this could be several years old, but growing in poor conditions, certainly not its favoured habitat. Although the plant itself was quite extensive, it only carried this one bloom.

ISO 100
Shutter speed, 1/320
F-stop f/10

Manual focus, flash used because if the plant growing in shade with poor direct natural light.

Any positive ID would be gratefully received.

A good evening to you. I am sue Bob will be adding this to his Blue Theme in no time at all. The inner core is very appealing, maybe for attracting a passing bee?

Hi Howard!
Great macro capture! Nice details. TFS.
Regards,
Mehmet

A fine and tiny blue flower in great detail Howard, the fill-in flash is a little harsh from this close distance but quite unavoidable my friend, the darkish BG enhances the beauty of the flower, TFS and cheers,
Mehmet

Hi Howard
You have captured a beautiful flower very well. I love the 'crystals' on the petals and the detail in the middle of the flower is interesting. I am guessing nature designed the little 'feathers' to protect the middle of the flower?
Cheers
