| Hiking in beautiful Snowdonia, Wales, I took a few shots of these plants. The white flax-like fluff became soggy and heavy with the rain, which made it even more interesting to me. I do not have any info on the identity of the plant; all I know is that it is a protected plant, and that the flora of Cwm Idwal (the glacier valley named after Idwal, a giant in Welsh mythology) was studied by Charles Darwin. |

Hi Attila, this is an unusual plant, and you can see the soggy heavilness from the rain. A tip for you: try not to centre the subject. I have done a quick WS to show you what I mean. I like the BG showing the other plants growing too. Very well done, thank you.
Hello Attila,
I know this beautiful plant. They are growing in Holland in some special places in the nature, like the Vlietlanden near Vlaardingen. This is the area of Nature Monuments. This is one of the layer peat areas which have not settled. This comes because never drainage works have taken place. They call them in Dutch "Veenpluis" and in English "Common Cottongrass"
See for more info the british Wikipedia :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Cottongrass
Or the dutch Wikipedia on:http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veenpluis
I have also such flower in my archive to post it on TN. This is a wonderful flower you have posted. Nice natural colors. Sharp an fine details. Nice POV, DOF and BG. A good composition. Regards and TFS Bob
