I was looking through some old shots and thought i'd share this from a great day out.
This is looking back down from the top of the Devils Kitchen, north east into the Ogwyn Valley in Snowdonia, North Wales.
This range of peaks is called the Glyderau, and they form a rugged string of 3000ft plus high mountains that seperate the more rounded Carneddau to the north from Wales and Englands' highest peak, Snowdon, or to give it's proper welsh name, Yr Widdfa, to the south west. Yr Wyddfa translates roughly as 'Great Tomb' in English.
That faint path at the bottom of the valley marks the beginning of the route taken to get to where this was taken from. It passes Lyn Idwal, the large body of water on it's right and then climbs very steeply up the side of some huge cliffs to this saddle, or 'bwlch' between two peaks, Gylder Fawr and Y Garn. A highly reccomended day out for anyone!

Scanned from a print from a 35mm SLR with a UV filter, sharpened, increased saturation by 10%, adjusted levels and then put through Neat Image.

Hope you like it.

This has come out well Paul.
We're able to get a really good feel for the place and the narrow depth off field extends the sharp detail from the rocks in the foreground to the distant horizon.
The light is interesting and the sun spot in the central part is effective. I also like your composition and the line of rocks in foreground.
Well done and thanks for this wonderful shot,
Regards,
Simon

Hi Paul,
Incredible POV to get this view!
You show us this wonderful landscape with a lot of depth. I like the way the eye moves through this valley until the far mountains at the bottom.
I like so much this composition with the diagonal well defined by the mountains.
Congratulations, thanks for share and best regards,
JM

Hi Paul,
The view is really spectacular and the composition is very good. I think that Need Image killed some of the structure in the clouds and made the overall photo a little soft, especially in the BG. I would love to see the version without the use of NI. But, this really looks like a wonderful place and I would love to see it for real.
TFS,
Niek
