Hello Everyone, hope you're all doing ok.

Just returned from a few days away exploring the Elan Valley system in the Cambrian Mountians, Mid Wales. This was taken towards the end of a huge hike along the hills tops, when we decided to stop in this beautiful meadow to take some cover in the shade from the scorching sun.
Hope this isn't too 'postcard-like' for you, but i thought the mix of wild flowers, lake, hill top and blue sky really caught essence of summer. Will be posting more from here in the next few days to give you a better idea of what this amazing area and it's wildlife is like.
I have also missed many of your wonderful shots, but will do my best to catch up as soon as possible.

Thanks for looking...

Very vivid shot Paul that's not very usual from you but good to see you like this style too!
I don't think you made a postcard shot out of it but the place was postcard like by itself :)
And there's no problem with it, I'd be happy to be there too. TFS!

Wow! Beautiful colours and composition. You have created magic with very simple subjects. Excellent shot.

Paul;
a lovely work as are all of yours. I noted your affect on Horia..and had wondered even beforehand if you two would do same locations one time...this one is a beauty. It sounds like a pseical historical place or the name of a movie...not sure which but sure is pretty there.

Hi Paul.
Thanks for kind word as comments and wonderful landscape picture. You have found amazing POV and scene for shooting with your excellent wide lens. Framing and composition of the image are brilliant. I like various rich and fine colours (of the sky, grass and flowers). DOF and crisp sharpness of all pictured objects impress the imagination. Bravo. Great shot as always.

Hello Paul, this is so beautiful and your pictures are always so beautiful. Photographing with a wide angle and getting such result is hard to do and you do it with great skills and such an artistic eye... they eye of a sensitive man. The flowers at the foreground make this picture a real gem. I love the superb patches of white and blue leading to the mountain and sky, going through that branch. Thank you for the contemplation.

Hi Paul,
Wonderful shot and it is such a pleasant scenery. Lovely colours and details and the FG tiny flowers look majestic. I like the way the grass turns yellow from green and the tapering land create magic here. Very nice done with a great POV and composition. Kudos.

Bluebells!!! Hahahaa

Nice to see you are traveling and having a great time, my friend!
I've been SUPER busy lately, having to write my final thesis for my masters...but i hope once i'm through with it to go somewhere in the mountains for a few days and relax and shoot :)

You seem to have had a terrific weather in your trip and you took great advantage of it.
I like this shot because it actually refreshing, in my opinion. Even if it includes some water and cliffs in it, you managed to get the attention off them and place it to this beautiful field of wild early summer flowers which are just gorgeous! You know i love your seascapes, but i think you, too, were happy to be able to take a different type of landscapes :)

The colors here are rich and wonderful, the ultra wide angle view is great and it incorporates everything - from a very close FG all the way to the sky, giving us a splendid view of the area. I like the way you managed to incorporate the log and the lichen-full rock and how they lead the eye towards that superb colorful field.
Very well seen and taken, mate!

Cheers and TFS

Hi Paul,
So that's why there wasn't a new photo during the weekend. It seems you had stunning weather during this trip. Although that does make it more difficult to take photos. I really like you composition, especially with the shaded area in the FG. It brings out the colors of the flowers in the FG even more and creates additional depth. I do find it a bit odd to see the softness in the tree on the left. I was expecting more details. Anyway, the overall photo is wonderful and the control on the exposure, considering the harsh light is excellent.
TFS,
Niek

Gorgeous shot!!
The light and summery colours are beautiful!
Very sharp and very detailed.
Excellent FG interest too.
Perfect exposure.
Did you get any Red Kite shots?

Very well done as usual!!
Cheers,
Joe

Hi Paul,

So many wonderful new shots from you, so little time to do them all justice at the moment - this one caught my eye though, wonderful classical landscape composition - and fantastic summer colours. What's wrong with a nice vivid postcard scene once in a while, eh?! You've handled the scene really well as usual, so many different elements yet they don't clutter one another or clash. One question - is it my eyes or monitor or is it a touch soft in the long distances? Anyway - it's lovely work my friend - glad you had a glorious trip! Cheers, Doug :-)
