[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of three macro's I took of a butterfly (not sure what type.) The others are a bit out of focus and even this one is a bit blurry on the butterfly's right wing. But I was pleased with the depth of field as I didn't have a tripod at the time. As with all my photos, I have used a minimal amount of processing.

Hello Nathan
The composition here is perfect with the perch running through the frame from the left side and the butterfly (Im not sure of the ID myself!!) sitting with space to the left....The subject is sharp but if you could have faced it straight on then the plane of focus would have encompassed the butterfly giving sharper details on the wing and still left you eith this glorious background.
All the same its a cracking capture and thanks for sharing this one.
All the best
Paul

Hello Nathan,
You have a great composition here with a perfect background. The butterfly is a Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta). Butterflies are always difficult to photograph in my experience, so you should be pleased with your shot. Thanks for sharing,
Lee
