[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
En route to a party decided to take a walk in Hardcastle Crags near Hebden Bridge in Yorkshire after hearing about the bluebell woodlands ... certainly wasn't disappointed, it's a beautiful spot and here is one of quite a few shots I took on the day.

My main regret is not having a tripod with me therefore being limited to hand held shutter speeds, I tried to focus so as to maximise the aperture available to me - I don't think it really spoils the shot but a nice wide DOF would have been ideal.

Nonetheless, the dappled sunlight shining through the trees on to the bluebells was really stunning, I just hope this captures some of the beauty.

Hello Doug,
A romantic scenery, that's the term that comes to my mind!
A lovely blue carpet covering the ground in this well composed image...
Wonderful spring atmosphere is captured!

Hi Doug,

a beautiful composition you've chosen here mate, the rock in the foreground adds a nice interest and the dappled light is really nice too. Pity about the tripod but i doubt turning up to a party with one would've been apprpriate either!

Hope you're well, good to see some more shots from your part of the world.

Paul

G’day Doug Beautiful image. Excellent exposure and DOF. Well done! Reminds me of Maidstone woods when I was growing up there in the U.K.

Hi DOug,
You mentioned the only flaw yourself. The aperture really needed to be smaller. Even without a tripod you still had enough steps to do so. Besides that the mood and the composition are wonderful. I am still hoping the shoot something like this myself, but I have no idea where to find a forrest like this in my country. I love the fresh spring colors.

Lovely shot of the bluebells Doug. It is a shame we can't get the smell. Lovely POV. You have captured some wonderful details in the closest bluebells and then the eye is lead back into the sunlit woods, lovely
