[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This Dryad's Saddle fungus appeared on a buried tree stump on the coastal road near my home. It measured some one metre across. It was the first time I had seen this fungus type and had to look it up in a book to identify it. I got some strange looks from passing motorists as I knelt on the pavement to get the photo's. The very next day someone or their dog broke several of the pieces off and spoiled it.
Camera settings:- ISO 400, AV, Spot metering, 100mm focal length, Hand held.

A very nice clear and sharp shot of the fungas Peter. Good exposure and I like the close framing around the fungus. Good light and colour.

Peter,
Well compose image.
Aperture is important here to get enough DOF...
1/3 of the range is situated in front of the focusing point...
I always keep that in mind when phootographing fungi; experience:-)
A liite nit though....
