[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After a very wet day the sun finally came out for a couple of hours, just long enough for a walk in the local park. Since going 10 days ago lots of the Greylag Geese have had their young. This was one of 4 babies. When young their feathers start off yellow-green and then slowly turn to brown-grey, this one i think is about two weeks old. The S mark on his side clearly shows where his wings are. This baby was enjoying the fresh grass.

Greylag Goose ( Anser anser ) Length 75-90 cm when fully grown. The largest of our grey Geese and the only one which breeds in Britain. British population is swollen in the winter by migrants from Iceland. These Birds favour coastal grassland. The Greylag has grey-brown plumage which is barred on the back and belly with a white stern with dark wavy ridges on the neck. Britsh Birds have pink legs and an orange bill. The Birds from Europe have pink bills.

A lovely shot of the cute Goosling, nicely composed and a great pose of the baby feeding, you have captured the downy feathers nicely and I like the catchlight in the eye too.
