[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Green_veined White (Pieris napi) , very simular to the small white, but differs in 2 major respects, as you can see from this image the major veins in the wings of this butterfly are darkened on either side where the small white has plain white undersides to its wings. And while the Small white can be a major pest of cultivated members of the cabage family, the green -veined prefers the wild members of the family like Charlock, Garlic Mustard and watercress.
thanks you for looking

Hi Robert,
very detailed, well describing, well composed capture of P. napi, obviously sitting on top of a still immature spring orchid. The scene looks pleasantly peaceful, while the background patterns seem to be exploding quite effectfully.
With thanks, and best regards,
Peter

Excellent detail of both butterfly and plant. Although it seems a bit dark, the colors are soft and natural. Excellent composition. I really like when you can see the veins in the wings and the tiny hairs around the edge.

Hi Rob, you show the Green-veined White really well. Good up close shot of it, and the veins stand out well. Nice and sharp too.

A great macro with excellent sharpness and details. Wonderful DOF, POV, and marvellous colors and composition.
Thank you very much, Robert.

Good image, very sharp, with details on the entire butterfly and a nice bokeh effect. Maybe it could use a little light adjustment. I did a quick workshop, hope you don't mind.

Hello Robert,
Fine capture of the Green-veined White with good sharpness and light management, well composed with pleasing BG.
One could speculate as to the species of Orchid that it is settled on.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan
