A medium-sized but very robust damselfly, with distinctive 'bug-eyed' look. Red eyes most noticeable in mature males, which also show dark (but not black) abdomen with blue band across the last two segments, and largely blue thorax. Immature males and females generally yellow and black.

salut Joey,
jolie macro, je vois que tu aimes bien faire des plans rapprochés. Bon cadrage de moitiée, la lumière est douce. Une petite correction de netteté est possible en pp.

Joe, Lovely shot and I really like your macro work in shooting. Absolutely wonderful and well done TFS Ganesh

Hola Joe:

A good macro and excellent and documented commentary. Good work.

Thank you for sharing your precious(beautiful) photos.

Josep

Another good one!
You really get some wonderfully detailed shots. The color is vivid yet realistic. Lovely!

I see your point when focusing on the body. It gives a change of pace. Of course the eyes stick out well which is important...and the background colors fit the body colors well, thereby really focusing on the change of color in the eyes. You butterfly affectionatos amaze me at your patience.

Hello Joe,
Your S3 is not a camera but a microscope :-)) Very interesting to see so close this "Libellule" in french.
The "+++" : composition, subject, detalis, POV, colors, DOF, exposure...
The "=" : perhaps a little more sharpness...
Congratulations Joe and thanks for sharing.

Hi Joe,

A wonderful macro of this damselfly. The colors and details are amazing. I love the natural setting!

Hi Joe,
This is a great close up!
I like so much the clear details got all over.
You did it pretty well with the f/8 exposure to get the most of the insect in focus.
Did you use a tripod? You used a really slow shutter speed.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.
My best regards,
JM

Very impressive focus, colours and details in this macro shot of a damselfly's head and thorax region, Joe.
The eye in particular has been well captured.
TFS.

Hi Joey,

Great shot of the Damselfly, nicely composed with great pose and POV, the colours are just lovely and nice detail too.

Hi Joe,
Great closeup macro, sharp details. If you're not using a tripod, you've got a very steady hand at 1/8th seconds, even with IS. I did a WS to try & improve your macro.

Hello Joey,
Thanks for posting this female that I've not yet been able to capture! Amazing macro you're showing here, very sharp and in natural colours. The eye is obviously not as red as in the male.
TFS and regards, Ulla
