[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A robust plant up to 70cm tall, with a cluster of five to nine broad, flat, unspotted, greyish-green basal leaves. Several sheathing stem leaves grade into the bracts, which are not as long as those of Early Marsh-orchid. The flower spike is large and can bear more than 100 flowers varying in colour from pale lilacmauve to dark magenta. The lateral sepals are spreading, becoming erect as the flowers mature. The upper sepal and petals form a loose hood. The lip is broad, even spoon-shaped, scarcely three-lobed with a pale central zone marked with small dots and dashes which never form a symmetrical double loop. The spur is thick, finger-shaped and sometimes down-curved.

Hi Anita,
This is a very nice image, well exposed, great detail and perfect depth of field, no fall-off of focus on the plant and perfect out of focus background. Great colours and nicely framed. Can't see any way to improve this one, nice work.
Adrian

Hi Anita

What a wonderful shot of this beautiful specimen. The composition, DOF and sharpness are excellent and the rich colours have come out so very well. I managed to capture a couple of orchids on my holiday this year, but no where near as many as last year...

Hello Anita & Mike,

I like your archive with so many Orchidaceae very much. I didn't that there a so many species at this world. I made a few shots of different orchissen here in Holland. Special particularly types who grow on wetlands. So I'm surpised. Back to your photo.

A very sharp and ful of fine details shot of this southern marsh-orchid. Natural colours. DOF and BG are oké. Nicely framed.
Thanks for sharing. Have a nice sunday and TFS BOB
