Another even great shot of this beautiful grass snake Julian.
Had to laugh loudly over the note :)
Perfect captured with the split tongue.
Excellent sharpness, DOF and lighting due to wich details are wonderful and background is lovely soft.
Also like the clarity and light in the eye very much.

A superb image of this Natrix natrix.I would love to capture one of our local snakes in a similar pose.Awesome eye contact,and great timing to freeze the tongue out liek that.Excellent POV and DOF.The focus is spot on,and the details are sharp.Very well done.The OOF BG is pleasant and suits the subject well.TFS

The focus for detail is spot on.Getting that tongue out is sometimes hard to do. Very impressive shot Julian .

Wonderful shot on the snake! That is not so common for a snake as a subject, taking a photo with artistic background, spot on sharpness and wonderful colours! i like the eye a lot.

What a great portrait! I love grass snakes and this one is a beautiful specimen! You had great timing to capture it with its tongue out which is not an easy thing to do. Composition, details and exposure are superb and so is DOF. Unfortunately, I don't see many of them here but I know that we have some. Thanks,
