Hi Niel
Happy 200th Post ;)
This deer does have a cute expression, almost a puzzled look. I like the location you captured here with the dark background. This deer has quite a heavy coat for July, it must be a cool part of Scotland. The framing, colours, lighting and detail are all great. Again happy 200th.
TFS and for your help over the past year.

Hi Niek,
Firstly may i say congratulations on your 200th post here on TN. Your presence here is one of constant constructive encouragment, as well as posting work that gives us all something to aspire to.
As for this shot, the expression that you have captured is priceless. Perfect focus and a great POV from so low down, it seems that this fine Stag is stood in a sea of flowers. Very well done.

Wonderful capture, Niek. Great details. That 400 earned it's keep on this one. I think the expression is that he is clearly watching you. He reminds me of the stag in the move "The Queen".
Mike
P.S. Congrats on #200!

Congratulations on number 200! We have both come a looooong ways. We have an expression "... having a screw loose" but "bolts" works just as well and is possibly funnier. : ) I will neither confirm nor deny your diagnosis! I'll have defer to the stag's assessment! I do like its quizzical expression. It is a nice sharp, well exposed image. One has to wonder why they don't more often break those skinny legs! It is fortunate that you had such a simple even-toned background. It sets off your subject nicely.

Hi Niek...majestic springs to mind here. Good backdrop creating a vertical and horizontal canvass. Nice touch at the feet were the oof grass blends nicely but doesn't obstruct. Pose is classic with slight tilt of the head. best, Brat.

Gongratulations with your 200th image here on TN Niek.
And it's a beautiful one.
Love the frontal shot and pose of the deer.
Vertical composition, lighting and sharpness are excellent and the background, with the large trees and foreground with the lovely soft green color of the grass and yellow color of the flowers, are most wonderful.
Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards,
Harry

Hoi Niek,
Groeten,
John.

Hello Niek,
A majestic fellow with a funny expression!
In fact he looks like he just put a question, curious for the answer, tilting his head...
Great focus and fine details, light makes the antlers really stand out!

Priceless expression on this goofy looking stag, if the name 'Bullwinkle' wasn't already handed out to a moose, I wouldv'e surely given this fellow the name. Very nicely done Niel. :)

Laying "flat" on the floor.!!! That is a REAL PROFESSIONAL talking.
Hello Niek,
Have not visited you for awhile.
Shall start posting "landscapes"; perhaps, then, we are going to 'attract' each others attention again.
GREAT TO SEE YOUR WORK AGAIN.
Are you coming to Canada to photograph our part of the world??? When???
Best of the best to you, my DEAR friend,
Mario.

I have to agree with you. The look on his face is very captivating. It's character like this that stands out. It's a beautiful animal standing in whispy grass. Nice shot all around. I'm glad your shots are improving with time. This certainly says something about your eye training. Very well done. TFS.
