Hello,

It's always a nice suprise when you discover a new part of your local surroundings, especially when you thought you'd seen it all.
This is a spot that as far as i know, has no name. It is as far round underneath towering cliffs as you can get from the place i took my last post from, and the ledge on the left is the slightly precarious route you need to take to get here.
What struck me at this very quiet spot was the contrast between light and shadow, and the slice of bright blue sky and sea you can glimpse though this cleft in the rock.
I would imagine that this place is not visited very often at all, which makes it seem even more special to me.

not much PP, shot in RAW, reduced highlights, converted to JPEG, resized and sharpened.

Thanks for looking..

This is a strong landscape Paul with the strong contrast echoing the angular rocks. Very bold and the dark shadows really force antention through the central part of your composition. Best, Brat.

Hi Paul,
So you are entitled to give it a name. Suggestion....P. Haynes Cove.
The risky trip to this spot was certainly worth it. the result is magnificent. I really like the stark blue colors of the sky and the aqua color of the ocean. They both contrast great with the yellow rock. You did an excellent job on the exposure control considering you were in the shade and the sun seems to be really bright.
TFS,
Niek

Hello Paul nice viewpoint great colours and contrast sharp details and nice dof. Well composed tfs rgds Necip.

La sombra y la pared de la derecha que en principio pueda parecer que estorba, aquí lo que hace es resaltar el fondo como motivo principal y el agua. Agua y cielo con espectaculares y reales colores. Saludos.

Hi Paul, splendid sea landscape, great colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

How fun to find a new place to shoot. That water sure is clear and pretty. I like the jagged and jutting shapes and the strong colors.

Hi Paul, it isn't the sky or the rock that does it for me in this shot, though they do provide great colour and detail. Rather it's that wave surging up the side of the rock. You have picked up excellent colour and texture on this one. To me, that turns this photo from a good one to a great one.

Thanks, John

Hello Paul,
Beautiful captured of the light and colour different in the water!
Good Dof, POV in captured this composition with sky, rock, sea and colour!
This light is a real xtra bonus in the whole picture
well composed and well seen
thanks for sharing
Tony

Hello Paul,
I agree with John, the strong contrast "echos" the rock formations in this bold composition. The hard light/shadow was handled well..Excellent DOF and detail, even in the shadows.

Hi Paul,
A fantastic new discovery and it will be apt to name it 'Paul Cove' as Neik suggested. Wonderful natural lighting and blue sky looks stunning. The cleft gives a marvellous view and the enormity is illustrated well. Excellent POV to portray the scene and very nicely composed. Kudos.
TFS.

You're right, Paul! The light has a fantastic effect on the colour of the rocks and the sea. It also defines the ridge of the rock!

It is almost like a battle! The strength of the powerful rocks against the might of the crashing sea!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
