Hi Niek,
some lovely detail in the foreground here, and the overall lighting has a very natural feel. I see you have experienced the delights of rock hopping along a rugged coast too!
The portrait format works well, creating a long, deep view into the whole frame, and the pinkish brown colour of the rock is great. Looks like a nice spot to explore.

Ha Niek,
een mooi landschap, met tępisch brits weertje, hoop dat alles heel is gebleven na het wandelen op de stenen, zoals je al aangeeft soms veraderlijk glad, groetjes

Very nice landscape image Niek.
Love the depth with the big rock in the foreground and the smaller ones in the water wich are leading the eye wonderfully in to the scene and the rain clouds in the sky, wich by the way I personally would have darrken a bit more to give them a more dramatic effect.
Lighting at the foreground is excellent, but the background is a little to light in my opinion.
Lovely patterns in the rocks, soft color tones and frame.
I've got the feeling, but please correct me if I'm wrong, that the horizon is a little tilted to the left.
It looks like the sea is running empty :)
Nevertheless a very nice image.
Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes,
Harry
You've got to love that lens. You made great use of it with the strong, sharp foreground. I like the colors in the foreground. Unsettled weather is often fortunate. The water line does lean to the left. Perhaps it is the curve of the bay that makes it look that way. I would be tempted to straighten it in any case, because it just feels a little off.

Hey Niek, shades of signal-womb here! I really like the details in the fg here. I love the shot. But even before I read your note I noticed a tilt in the horizon (it tilts anbout a degree to the left). I also agree with Harry that you might try to knock down the sky a bit too, to see if there are more details to bring out.
Mike
P.S. I tried it, and I like it. I'm out of WSs today, but I'll post it tomorrow.

An unusual PoV with the focus on the foreground and yet it works very well. Superb colours and composition

Hi Niek.
I can't wait to get back to the seaside and take great shots like this one, puting to use all the latest tricks I've learned through the likes of yourself. I feel land locked here in Romania! Great POV and sharpness. Lovely colour and composition. I'm really enjoying your new posts from your UK trip. Well done again.
Best regards, Steve.

Hi Niek, you don't have much horizon on the left but I measured what you do have, and it looks like it's aligned to me. The land may be creating some kind of optical illusion of tilt. Your depth of field is excellent with great focus on the rocks, snails and algae up front with decent focus through to the rear. The colour, especially in this front section is very good. I like the composition, though I can see how the illusion of tilt would be a little disconcerting to people.
Thanks, John

Hi Niek
The vertical composition worked excellently for this shot. One gets a good sensation of the closeness of the rocky foreground while it leads the eye deeper into the image to discover the rock scattered ocean, then the landmass on the horizon before going of into the distant clouds. The inclusion of the rock on the right also adds to the compositional effect and success.
The excellent range in the wide DOF ensured striking details throughout the depth of the shot. Overall a good result with great exposure management through the slow shutter speed.
Well done MF and TFS.
Regards
Loot

even though a better light would have made this a stunner you can't fault the composition and technique with this.
